The purpose of the group is to provide support for parents whose kids have multiple needs and many acronyms (PDD, ADHD, NVLD, SID, ASD, CAP disorders, etc.!) This group is for fathers of children with Aspergers Syndrome (and PDD-NOS) to get together and share the unique experience of being a father of a child with AS, and to arrange recreational activities for the kids too. The reason this is designed for fathers specifically is that almost all of the support groups I have seen on this topic are for mothers, or are dominated by mothers. Parenting AS affects men in a unique way, and Aspie kids need male presence that meets their needs too.

… Superflex(TM) is a curriculum geared towards children K-5, but I think it can also be effective through the 8th grade. As a clinical social worker and a school social worker, I have not found any program (and there are a lot of them out there) that comes close to reaching kids the way this program does. Superflex is the superhero that is trying to save Social Town from the team of Unthinkables. These Unthinkables are the characters that are getting into kids' brains and preventing them from mak …
